Communication training for Service Partner

CommunicationIn the Learning Agency Network, Service Partner are having the possibility to communicate services to clients and to manage service experts. Our Service Partner are primary educational experts, either from companies, universities, associations or even governmental organisations. This means that they have no experience nor practice in what we commonly call "marketing and sales".

Since LANETO wanted to support its Service Partners, we thought about teaching them methods of traditional marketing and sales via highly reputed experts in this fields, to whom we have contact to. But whilst designing the training, we figured out that it wouldn't be very helpful to teach marketing and sales to an educational expert - even more: We were suddenly convinced that traditional forms of marketing such as advertising will decline anyway. Instead of marketing and sales, which implies that the process of marketing and sales would be the most important, we simply called it a "Communication Training" to push the product or service in the foreground.

In the first week, we started with a simple "buying and selling" activity in order to get a feeling on what our decisions to buy are based upon. Everyone had to sell a product and to buy a product. We left it to the sellers to decide about the price and their own margin. The results were quite astonishing: Whilst many participants have assumed that the cost-quality ratio would be very important for the decision, it was actually the trust between seller and buyer which was the most important.

The excercise was then widened in the last week: Best Practices of marketing have been analysed and discussed. Out of our synthesis', we developed a vision on how marketing will look like in the future and what tools will be used.

In this week, we had a closer look at ourselves and conducted personal interviews with each other in which we asked questions about our skills, interests and future plans. Based on the individual profiling, campaigns will be elaborated in the next week and be more specified in the last week.

It has been so far an amazing experience to participate in this very active and engaging course, thanks to our communication trainer Sara Rafi who is doing an outstanding job.

OER Services Roll-Out

OER Services Roll-Out

Yesterday evening, the OER Services have been officially roll-out within a reception in LANETO's headquarter. The OER Services shall bundle the OER related activities of experts and partners of the Learning Agency Network - but also feed in the current discussions of leading stakeholders.

Unfortunately, Andreas Link, Director of the OER Services, couldn't attend the event due to a medical treatment. On his behalf, Rolf Reinhardt, one of the co-founders of the OER Services has outlined the next steps after the roll-out.

One of the first activities will be the design of an online course for becoming a "Certified OER Expert". Already now, many of the leading OER stakeholders from European and international organisations have expressed their interest to evaluate this course and shape it together with the OER Services Team. If you would like to join this team and thus participate for free in the pilot course (starts on the 6th of June), please write an email to Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist gegen Spambots geschützt! Two pilot projects are currently envisaged: One promoting the use of Virtual Laboratories for Engineering Education, the other one designing an entire VET center in Ethiopia, which shall be mainly based on OER usage. Rolf Reinhardt explains: "The project in Ethiopia could provide us with valuable experiences when building up a VET center from the scratch and how OER can be used for it, whereas the Virtual Laboratories could have a side effect which is the collaborative creation process of educational material along the potential usage."
